All blocks except Sampler are modified with the following:
- Using a (ch1 SC) or (ch2, DC) for first stitch
- Joins done in the corner with an HDC replacing the chain 2 except on last round. Using (ch2, join to first stitch) so that there is a gang of stitches before the finishing join. This places stitches correctly for an invisible join.

Souvenir granny square
Made Square 3 from the Sampler Afghan to keep a remembrance of the colors I used for my Mom’s afghan. You can see a picture of that afghan in Wavy Stripes. It’s the cream one with embroidered violets. Realized there was no reason to keep it and it could be of use to someone else, so including it here.
- This afghan used 20 - 3.5oz skeins of Aunt Lydia’s Worsted Weight in Fisherman (5203), less than one skein each of Dark Seafoam (5212), and Seafoam (5211); less than one 3oz skein each of Caron Radiance for Ben Franklin Stores in Mulberry (3332) and Deep Violet (3330); less than one 3.5oz skein of Red Heart Classic in Lavender (584).

- I don’t like the way the top of the last loop is joined so I kludged in a center HDC to make it work.
- Square buckles - see picture. It has too many stitches on each side to lay flat. Might be better to begin with only 2 stitches per side but I don’t care enough to try to make it work.
