Notes

- Doing 10 peaks with a straight edge start.
- Chain 134 with Green Susan Bates Mexico USK10.5/6.50 MM
- Switch to Red Boye Make in USA J hook.

Note: Try doing Row 1 with larger hook next time. Doing it with the J hook made it smaller that the other rows.

- Each three color section gives ~11 inches length.

Stitch counts
Straight start to peaks
- Row 1: 133 stitches. This is the only row that starts in the second chain from the hook. Wish the pattern had example stitch counts.
- Row 2: 133 stitches. Measures 45” across.
- Row 3: 133 stitches. Measures 48” across.
- Row 4: 153 stitches.
- Row 5: 172 stitches.

Regular pattern
- Row 2: 182 stitches - counts each dc3tog as three stitches. My rule.
- Row 3: 182 stitches.
- Row 4: 174
- Row 5: 174
- Row 6: 174

Peaks to straight edge
- Row 1 - 154 stitches
- Row 2 - 134
- Row 3 - 132 - this row needs to start with a ch 2 not a chain 3 since the tallest stitch is an HDC
Note: At this point, I have the wrong side facing. I will continue down one side to the bottom. Turn to the right side and back up to the top. Next do the final row across the top, and do a down and back for the final side. Minimizes yarn ends.
- Down side one - 166 stitches
- Up side one - 166
- Row 4: 135
- Down side 2: 167
- Up side 2: 168 (extra stitch is in corner chain.)

About the straight edge option
I don’t think it’s worth doing.
