Notes

This is a splendid block. Pattern is well written and results are beautiful.

Amazing to me that the same yarn with a smaller hook and a different pattern with stitches similar to the Cabled Blooms block has no problems at all with pulling. It is laying completely flat after six rounds.

- Round 1: Begin with a chain 2 instead of chain 3. Eliminate the last chain and close the round with a single crochet in the beginning DC2togcl. This eliminates the slip stitches.
- Round 7: Beginning with only the ch3 in the first corner to offset the invisible join. That way Round 7 will finish with a DC instead of two chains and make a nicer invisible join. (Next time will just do a slip stitch join.)
- End of Round 7: Gray used: 28g.
- Round 10: Made the fifth HDC through the point as well as the SC from round 9 so that there isn’t a gap under the point. (Both sides of the point)
- Round 11: Measures 11” square. Cutting Mulberry. Used 32g.
- Ending with Round 12 since block will be 12” there. Rejoin Gray. On this round only, skipping the “hidden Stitch. Final stitch count per side is 38 stitches. An additional 9g of gray used for the last round.

Using the Mulberry Mix was probably not the best idea as the design gets overpowered by the color changes.

Block 1: Jan. 9 - 13, 2024
Block 2: Jan. 14 - 17, 2024 - through Round 11. Not adding last round until I decide what I’m going to do with them.
Block 3: Jan. 17 - 23, 2024
Block 4: Jan. 23 - 31, 2024
Block 5: Feb 10 - 14, 2024

Block 4: Feb 15 - Mar 4, 2024

Using a Continuous DC join as you go. Best instructions I’ve found are from hookedbyrobin here at her youtube channel. Used 100g black for the join. Should have gone up a hook size for this. It draws in some.

Did another three-row pattern of lotuses around the nine-patch. Finished with a round of reverse single crochet.

And ripping that RSC out. Too loose.

Dropped down to my Green Boye G (4.50mm) hook for a final round of SC through the back and third loops. Helped a little with the curling forward.
