Round 1 and 2 as written. (Coffee)

Round 3: Using an 8-loop puff stitch for the sunflower petals. (Gold and Lemon)

Round 4: Start with a standing DC and the DC granny group instead of beginning with a ch-4 Treble. (Hunter Green and Tea Leaf)

Round 5: Starting with standing DC. (Soft White)

Round 6 as per pattern.

Round 7: Added “frosting” of Coffee. Begin in any corner with a SC. SC in each DC of Round 6, with ch-1 between. Corner is SC, ch-2, SC. Final corner SC, ch-1, HDC into beginning SC. This positions the Coffee yarn for joining the squares with Slip Stitch. Leave a 48” tail to use for joining. (Two less ends!)

Seamed using slip stitch BLO. Should have gone up a hook size so it wasn’t so tight.

20180625 - Time for the border!
Round 1: Brown - HDC BLO all stitches. Ch 2 in corners. Really pleased when the stitch count on sides matched (158 st and 223 st.) Only trouble is, they’re both prime numbers.

Round 2: Gold on short sides, Lemon on long sides. Pineapple stitch, ch1, sk a st, pineapple stitch in next stitch. Corners are pineapple stitch, ch 3, pineapple stitch all in ch 2 sp.

Round 3: Hunter green. change to F hook. Two HDC in top of each pineapple stitch. HDC ch 3 HDC in corner.

Round 4: Soft white. HDC 2X between each Round 3 cluster. Chain 3 in corner.

Round 4A: Cherry Red. Make a Large Rose (8 DC popcorn) in each corner chain 3 space of Round 3.

Round 5: Soft white. HDC 2X between each Round 4 cluster. In corner chain 3, 2 HDC, 2 DC, 3 TR, 2 DC, 2 HDC.

Round 6: Tea Leaf. HDC 2X between each Round 5 cluster except put a chain 1 between the last two before the corner. The small rose will be placed in that ch1. After last cluster, ch 1 then do Corner of BPSC in each of the 11 stitches.

Round 6A: Cherry Red. Make a Medium Rose in the ch 1 spaces of round 6.

Round 7: Soft White. HDC 2X between each Round 6 cluster until Medium Rose. After 2 HDC in space to right of Rose, Ch 2 behind Rose. HDC to left of last tea leaf cluster. HDC in each of next 5 BPSC. In next BPSC, DC, ch 1, DC, all in same stitch. HDC in remaining 5 BPSC. HDC 2X to right of first tea leaf cluster, ch2 behind Rose, HDC 2X to left of 2 HDC cluster to left of Rose. Continue HDC 2X in each space to next corner.

Round 8: Soft White. HDC 2X between each Round 7 cluster.
At Medium Rose: HDC 2X in Ch 2, SS in top of Rose, HDC 2X in Ch 2.
Corner: Skip 2 HDC. HDC in next 6 HDC from Round 7. HDC 3X in Ch 1 space. HDC in next 6 HDC from round 7. Skip 2 HDC.
At Medium Rose: HDC 2X in Ch 2, SS in top of Rose, HDC 2X in Ch 2.
Continue HDC 2X to next rose.

Before beginning Round 9, mark the middle stitch of each corner (Stitch 8 of 15).

Round 9: Coffee. HDC 2X between each Round 8 cluster.
Corner: HDC 2X around SS in top of Medium Rose, HDC 2X in next space between cluster and HDC of corner. Skip 1 HDC. HDC 2X in next HDC 3X. Skip 1 HDC. In corner HDC, DC 2X, Ch 2, DC 2X. Repeat between * 3X. HDC in space between clusters, HDC 2X around SS in top of Medium Rose. Continue with HDC 2X between clusters.
