So happy to be making this. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. The videos provided by the ever calm and supportive Esther Dijkstra ItsallinaNutshell provide clarity and encouragement.

Final ends worked in. Beautiful piece.
When laying it out for its final pictures, there was some bubbling in the center. The border seems tight. I would probably go up a hook size for some of the border rounds if I make this again.

Down to the last two rows and did a test section to see how they turned out. I don’t like how it curls under so doing Round 24 as Back Loop plus third loop HDC in Moonstone (MC). Round 25 will be Back Loop plus third loop SC in Tourmaline (CC2).

FINALLY finished Round 18 and Part 10. Every time I pulled this out to work on it, Bootsy made a beeline for it. Made it difficult to make progress…
8-16-2019
Using MC for Round 15. Also tacking down the middle petal of Round 12 with the HDC in the ch 1 space.
8-10-2019
Part 9 complete. Really liked doing the Petals in Round 12.
8-7-2019
Using CC6 for Round 13.
7-25-2019
Reverting to the original color changes for the border since I like that colorway better than the “use up the yarn” one in the rainbow instructions.
7-10-2019
Part 8 complete. Used a 3.75mm hook for Border Round 7 because I know my SC are tight.
6-13-2019
Part 7 complete. Cut yarn because I find the slip stitches unattractive and will also be joining fresh yarn for Part 8.
6-9-2019
Border Round 1 - Found that because of doing the join as you go, the ch1 space didn’t align nicely with the points of the diamonds. I’m putting the 3 TR, ch2, 3TR corners directly into the points of the diamonds.
5-25-2019
Part 6 done plus joined during the last round so no additional seaming. Hanging it over the stair railing point to point to help it relax and straighten out.
5-23-2019
Note to self Next time catch the ch-4 space in the corner of Round 16 with the corner hdc of Round 18.
5-17-2019
Same with Beryl. This was expected because I’m running about 20% larger than gauge.
Part 5 complete.
5-16-2019
Finished the third skein of Peridot on round 13 of the Half-Diamond. This is the last skein from the kit. I have one extra in reserve so the quantity for this color will be ok.
5-9-2019
Part 4 complete.
5-5-2019
Part 3 complete. Added one extra chain to each corner to help with the join-as-you-go pass-loop-through process. Piece measures 48” point to point.
4-27-2019
I have forgotten the last DC in the diamonds so many times that when I make this the next time, I will be doing a DC, TC, TC, DC pointy corner instead of starting with the treble.
4-22-2019
Part 2 complete.
2-26-2019
Part 1 complete.

THRILLED to report that the missing items arrived today from Scheepjes!
02-12-2019
Did the test of Rounds 1-8 and still come out oversize. Since this project does not have a deadline, if I run out of a color, I’ll either get creative or order an additional skein or two.
Actual project crochet began today. LOVE the new Clover hook.
02-10-2019
Did the second gauge swatch with the 3.25mm hook and ended up with width of 5” and weight of 9g. I have an extra skein of each of the colors so I’m going with this hook. Got burned when I did the second hook downsizing on the Waking Winter.

Opened kit today. Sad to say that this kit did not include the label, button, or stitch markers. I have contacted Deramores and they are working with Scheepjes on the issue.
