Notes

I worked on this project off and on over the course of 3 years. It ended up having 42 squares, each about 12” x 12”, so it’s about 6’ x 7’. It covers our king size bed easily, with some to spare.

In addition to the 60 squares book mentioned above, I also used patterns from:

99 Knit Stitches

and

220 Aran Stitches

I loved this project because it taught me so much, and if I ended up not caring for a particular stitch, I knew I didn’t have too much of it to do. It was also nice & portable, and a good way to take a break from larger projects (part of the reason it took so long.) My only regret was that I used crummy easily pilled yarn. On the other hand, if I had used nice yarn for this project, it probably would have cost me a jillion dollars. And overall, I’m pretty happy with, and proud of, this project.

Sorry for the crummy pictures. Maybe some day I will be able to use my new digital camera properly. Also, the square that says “Janes 2006” is in the bottom right-hand corner and is my signature, so to speak, as Janes is my maiden name. It was done using stranded knitting.
