Notes

This is really a fab pattern only available at the Montoya Fiber Studio in Evanston. Go into the store to purchase it from the owner, Cathy Montoya.

What do I really love about this pattern? It takes all of two skeins (three in my case since I lost a huge chunk of yarn when I left behind a WIP in progress bag on a CTA train).

Anyhow, two skeins should do the trick. I used size 7 and 8 needles. Size 8 for the main sections, 7 for the neckline ribbing and the arm holes.

You know what the hardest part of this pattern is? Sewing the dang thing up with the mattress stitch. Otherwise, easy peasy. No mods. I went with the pattern as is since it has a lot of ease.

Loved this pattern I’m making it in a brown/black colorway for my mom. It’s sort of tempting to keep the project for myself since I can see brown with some eye-popping pink even yellow tops. But I owe my mom big time for helping me in a recent move, so it’s for her.

Another thing - I’m modeling my vest while holding Cathy Montoya’s in-store sample. I know I’m such a copy cat, shocking I know!
