The first baby blanket this year. This one is for baby Tommy who was born yesterday: 3rd January, 2019, just 1 week late, he wasn’t in a hurry:)

This is a jayg (join as you go) c2c blanket, using the technique by The Patchwork Heart. You can find her very detailed tutorial here

This c2c pattern makes a lovely fabric and I much prefer this technique of joining the squares at the end of each row rather than making separate granny squares and joining on the last round.

The Border:

Rd 1: Grey (2sc, ch 2 2sc) for corner. 2ch, sc in space all around.
Rd 2: Grey (2sc, ch 2, 2sc) for corner, 2sc in each ch 2 space.
Rd 3: White (2hdc, ch 2 2 hdc) for corner. Crossed hdc all around.
Rd 4: Blue (2sc, ch 2, 2sc) for corner. Sc in each st.
Rd 5: White same as rd 3.
Rd 6: Grey same as rd 4.
