I have wanted to make this blanket for some time and now I have an excuse, this is going to be for my spare bedroom, which I am going to be decorating after Easter. Update: Younger daughter Susie took pity on me and decorated for me, bless her:)

It is like a cross stitch pattern of a rose, made up of tiny 2 round granny squares which are joined as you go.

It is just like cross stitch but a little slower!

I have added an extra white row between the gingham border and the start of the rose and I am making 2 round granny squares.

I use Bunny Mummy’s technique for the first round of border here. So no ruffle edging.

Border.

Rd 1: sc with 2sc, 2ch, 2sc at corner
Rd 2: 2dc, 2ch, 2dc corner, crossed dc all around
Rd 3: In blue work as Rd 1
Rd 4: work as Rd 2
Rd 5: sc, ch2, sc in corner, sc in space in between cross dc of previous round, ch 2 all around
Rd 6: for corner (tb, 7 tb with 3ch picot, tb) sk on ch 2 space, sc in next, skip 1 ch space and work 1tb, 5 tb with 3 ch picot, 1 tb, all around.
