I cannot believe that I am starting yet another NAB.
This one is for a friend of the families baby due in August 2012. I started the blanket Diamond Jubilee Weekend whilst away for a few days. Now I have to make a start on the motifs. Then the dreaded sewing-on.
17 July: All the motifs are done now. Just have to finish crocheting the blanket and then to sew them on.
We know the baby is a boy, but not the name yet. So at least it will be ready for the birth at the beginning of August.
Just heard that my niece is expecting a girl in November, so yet another blanket will be needed for then.
All finished, I added a sea horse this time, made with D.K. and a 3.50 hook, because it came out too big in the worsted weight.
Glad to have this one finished, just got to add the name, when the baby is born, but we think the name is going to be Jenson. I hope they stick with that, as any longer would be difficult to fit in.
Baby born and is to be called Oscar, so one less letter to sew on, but still had the dreaded letter “S” to contend with. The last three blankets all having an “S” in, never mind, I will be proficient in “S” making by the end of this!!
Decided to do my own letters and used lower case format.
Here is where I got the inspiration for the alphabet for the name. I think I changed some of them a little, but it gives you the rough idea.
