This blanket is going to be for my daughter Susie’s future Sister-in-Law Sarah for her baby boy due in December 2019.

Baby Louie had different ideas about that and arrived 10 weeks early. Mother and Baby are both doing well. He weighed in at 3 lbs 6 ozs. Go Louie x

This pattern is nice and easy and I am pleased with the Paintbox Yarn. The fabric is very nice and is on par with Stylecraft Special D.K. which is my other favourite yarn to use.

I ended up with 29 dc’s on each section, so the blanket has turned out a nice size. I worked 6 rounds of white in between the grey stripes and managed to finish the main blanket in just 5 days.

I finished blanket off with a crab stitch border in grey.

I’ve noticed that my blankets don’t lie flat, so I’ve adjusted the pattern sequence to address this

This is my alteration if you’re interested:

Rounds 1 - 5 as pattern
Round 6 Small shell + 2 dc’s
Round 7 Large shell + 2 dc’s
Round 8 Large shell +3 dc’s
Round 9 Small shell + 4 dc’s
Round 10 Large shell + 4 dc’s
Round 11 Large shell + 5 dc’s

When you look at the pattern it is 2 rounds with large shell and the 3rd round with small shell, which keeps it flat.

The pattern is written with rounds 4, 5 and 6 with large shells, so by changing round 6 to small shells is keeping the sequence correct and the right amount of increased stitches.
