I always like to have one of these blanket on the hook to work on between other projects.
DIL Leah has asked me to make this one for her newly decorated lounge. She wants burgundy the same as I made for myself. I would have liked a different colour as I want to make another for myself in this colour too. I will be burgundeeed out, but at least it is better than the dreaded never ending brown blanket!!!
All done and I am very pleased about that.
Managed to get a better photo of this one, as I have had trouble getting the darker colours to show correctly in the past. (note to self: use camera on S setting).
All ready to give to Leah and Richard on Sunday when we are all going out to dinner to celebrate DH and my 35th wedding anniversary. Has it really been that long, how time flies when you are having fun!
Helpful Notes (I hope!)
Popcorn - 4 + 1 over 4 rows (I always use dc instead of sc and don’t change hook size as recommended, see my notes on how I do my popcorn on one of my project pages)
Diamond = 6 + 1 over 8 rows (this pattern splays a little at the edges while you are working it, but usually sorts itself out by the time you get to the next panel)
Cable = 3 + 1 over 2 rows
Shadow box = 10 + 2 over 2 rows (I would probably use smaller hook for this one too, as it comes up big)
Arrow = 4 + 2 over 2 rows
Celtic Weave = 4 + 2 over 4 rows (I would use a size larger hook for this one as it does nip in at the edges)
Basketweave = 6 + 1 over 6 rows (I always use a size smaller hook for this pattern)
You can view all of my previous ones from the Aran Throw tab at the top of my project page here.
