Notes

In this pattern, the guage is kind of important. I used a thicker yarn and a bigger yarn needle for the same number of stitches. The 211 stitches proved too many for a baby blanket. To overcome this I did the repeat only 16 times instead of 24. It still came out a bit big for a baby blanket; with the size of 42 X 54 inches it is more of a toddler bed blanket. Also the wider side is the caston side. The good part is that the longer side of the pattern’s rectangles came at the longer side of the blanket and that looks good. Besides paying attention to the guage, if you intend to knit this blanket I suggest you knit the seed stitch top and bottom borders with a smaller needle, one size smaller. The seed stitch comes out wider than stochinette and it does not look nice. I added the border to give a nice look and to hide this effect.
Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome. Some baby girl will be happy to have this blanket.
