Knit on size 3(US) needles using the Unpattern Top-down Raglan by Karen Alfke for the Seattle Knitter’s Guild 2009 Fall Fashion Show. I love this fiber! It has a sheen and drape that dress it up - and is not too hot to wear year round. I used two large hanks and would estimate the yardage around 1800, but that is not a precise measurement.
I used yo’s for the raglan increases.
I inserted a panel of arrowhead lace down the center back - 13 repeats - 13 because it’s my luck number as I was born on the 13th of January! I haven’t been foolish or brave enough yet to get a tattoo so for now this lace inset will have to do.
There is also a panel of arrowhead lace down the center of each sleeve. The sleeves are finished with 2 ridges of garter stitch.
The v-neck increases were done every 4th row. I separated the stockinette top from the arrowhead lace bottom with a knit tuck feature.
I knit one garter ridge row, 6 rows of stockinette, and on then knit the next row together with the garter ridge row, followed by a garter ridge row before beginning the lace. Just before beginning this feature I decreased 14 stitches at the center back with 7 k2togs on either side of the center stitch. When I began the lace, I added these stitches back in. The subtle effect provides a bit of a gathered feature at the center back.
The sweater is also finished with a few ridges of garter and a loose bind-off.
