Notes

I saw a pattern for this some time ago but figured out how to make it on my own. Using leftovers from this project.

  1. Knit some 3-stitch i-cord.

  2. Tie it into a Celtic heart knot (note the arrows in these instructions which guide you to the next photo, or use these alternate instructions or this short video).

  3. Sew the end into a loop and thread the other end through a bead or button for a clasp.

  4. Wear your knitted necklace.

Tip: To get my heart-knot centered on the necklace, I made some i-cord without binding off, tied the knot, then continued knitting to get the same amount of cord on both sides of the necklace (alternately, you can knit a long i-cord, then frog back to the right length).

I added a charm to the bottom - this is optional of course.

ETA: After I tied the knot and adjusted it to get just the right tension, I sewed some “thread” (a single strand/ply of the same 5-ply yarn) through the works to keep the shape from shifting.
