My sister lost one of her beloved mittens, so am knitting a new pair.

I redesigned the boy-mitten to include the pirate sword and flag that was in the original drawing. My sister asked to have their childhood signatures on the cuff, so I added that as well.

For the girl-mitten, to accommodate her signature on the cuff, I had to wrap the design around the cuff, and increase the CO to 52 sts. Reduced back to 48 sts at the start of the chart. Will have to do the same for the boy-mitten even though there is no design reason for doing so.

Same mod as before, i.e. 24 sts for the thumb instead of 18 sts.

I reduced the top of the stripey side using the dark colour, when really I should’ve used the light colour. Oh well, too late now, and I must make the boy-mitten with the same design choice.

Mailing these to the UK after the holidays, along with these mittens.
