My nephew wants Minecraft mittens with creepers, Steve, and sheep.

Decided on this order, from bottom to top: 2 sheep, 2 Endermen, 2 creepers, and 1 Steve where the mitten is reduced.

Cast on 48 sts.

Later… Argh, Steve’s eyes are blue! Messed that up, gave him black eyes by accident.

December 1, 2014: Made one mitten without the thumb. Sent a photo to my sister asking if I should continue, or start over with perhaps just an all-creeper mitten. She says she’ll ask my nephew and get back to me.

December 8, 2014: She finally got back to me with the instructions, “Carry on!”

December 11, 2014: CO for the second mitten. I always save the thumbs for last because knitting little tubes is BOOOOORING!

August 21, 2015: Recipient is here visiting but has already outgrown the mittens. Who knew that a 12 year-old’s hands could be so big - well, certainly not me! Ah well, no point in finishing, so hibernating this project - may frog it at some point.

December 19, 2022: Mailing other mittens to my sister after the holidays, so finally finishing these to send along too.
