Notes

My son wants Wobbuffet mitts to go with his Pokeball hat. Should be easy to do the face in duplicate stitch, or an embroidered chain. Just need to get some light blue yarn.

Based on my adventures with the Pokeball hat, I’m going to make plain mittens, then crochet the open-mouth piece and sew it on, rather than use intarsia.

I like Kyamo’s comment to me on the project: “The character already looks like a mitten.”

Notes to self:

  • Cast on 44 sts.
  • Increase 20 sts for the thumb.
  • 38 sts for the fingers.

August 30: Embroidered the eyes. Crocheted a mouth - it didn’t look that great. Next, did mouth in duplicate stitch, but ripped it out because it didn’t look right either. Need to buy some red and pink felt. Started second mitten in the meantime… second mitten done. The twin went much faster, as I didn’t have to stop every few rows to test the fit, or rip back at all. The pair used up one skein, with less than a yard left!

August 31: Almost finished except for finding pink felt or other fabric for the tongue.
