I made this drop of blood for tikkunknitter’s collaborative Haggadah project. If you’d like to join the fun, just send a message to her with your choice of plague or other symbol. :)

I originally added a mouth, but it made the drop look evil, so I snipped it off. Not sure if I’ll try adding another mouth - I sort of like it without one.

kfb = knit into the front of the stitch, slip through the back of the same stitch, and slide stitch off left needle.

Cast on 6 sts.

Rnd 1 and all odd-numbered rounds: knit.

Rnd 2: kfb each st (12 sts).

Rnd 4: (k1, kfb) to end (18 sts).

Rnd 6: (k2, kfb) to end (24 sts).

Rnd 8: (k3, kfb) to end (30 sts).

Rnd 10: (k4, kfb) to end (36 sts).

Rnd 12: (k5, kfb) to end (42 sts).

Rnds 13-17: knit.

Rnd 18: (k5, k2tog) to end (36 sts).

Rnds 19-21: knit.

Rnd 22: (k4, k2tog) to end (30 sts).

Rnds 23-25: knit.

Rnd 26: (k3, k2tog) to end (24 sts).

Rnds 27-29: knit.

Stuff toy.

Rnd 30: (k2, k2tog) to end (18 sts).

Rnds 31-33: knit.

Rnd 34: (k1, k2tog) to end (12 sts).

Rnds 35-37: knit.

Rnd 38: k2tog to end (6 sts).

Rnd 39: knit.

Run yarn through the remaining stitches and tie off.

Embroider eyes. Make a twisted cord and sew through the top for a hanging ornament.
