WIP photos included to demonstrate how this pattern is worked.

I made a serious mistake in the first repeat of the edging. I placed the right stitch in the wrong place, and didn’t catch my mistake until I reached the very end! I had to frog the whole last row and redo every bit of it! That’s what took so long (see edit photo with red circle showing my mistake and green arrow showing where I should have joined).

This doily is much prettier than it looked in the magazine reference photo. It is lacy and intellectual, classic Elizabeth Hiddleson.
