there was considerable chatting about “emotional support chickens” in the KAL threads for the mystery “Gnome News is Good News” gnome KAL. While knitting my striped gnome, I clipped out some of the earthy brown and grey stripes as I wanted my gnome to be lighter and brighter…and it seems only appropriate that this yarn be repurposed into a lovely little emotional support chicken for my gnome…so he will feel “whole” again!

NOTE re: wings — if you knit them both the same, following the pattern instructions, they are not symmetrical. I followed instructions for my chicklet’s left wing and reversed for right wing as follows:
Hold chicken upright and pick up 4 stitches.
—Knit first row.
—Purl second row.
