Notes

Feb. 13 - Cast on these socks by Ann Budd tonight. The color is deepest midnight blue, nearly black.

Feb. 19 - I am about 1½“ from being able to start toe decreases on the first sock. When worn the motif looks like cables, but it’s far easier than even a cable is. Excellent pattern.

Feb. 20 - One sock is finished. I’ll be casting on the other one momentarily. I do like this pattern. There was a minor snafu at the last two stitches Kitchenered and I had to re-do: my slippery KnitPicks circs fell out of the stitches and I couldn’t recover. I unpicked the Kitchenering and ripped back a couple of rounds, re-knit and then changed the needles to a couple of bamboo DPNs, since they’re sticker than the KP by far. The Kitchenering worked smoothly after that.

Feb. 25 - I can’t believe it but I am finished! Guess what I’ll wear to church tomorrow? Kitchenering this second sock went so well — thank you, Lorilee Beltman. And thanks to Ann Budd who designed this great little sock!
