This shawl is deceptively simple, knit in garter stitch with simple slipped stitches to create garter stitch mosaic knitting. Only one shade of yarn is used per row as the pattern is made from knitting stripes and slipping occasional stitches.

The shawl is knit from the bottom centre point up, increasing at the ends of each row, allowing for the shawl to be resized by simply choosing when to stop knitting: no complicated maths or rules apply when re-sizing this pattern, so you can make it in any size from a small neckerchief, standard width shawl or shawlette up to a gigantic wrap.

Once the desired size os reached instructions are given to add an optional knitted-on iCord edge which completely wraps around the outer edge rather than sit flush on top of the edge, giving a perfect finish.

The texture of this shawl is warm and cosy, and as it lays completely flat (due to the garter stitch) and unlike stranded colourwork contains no yarn floats to get caught on your clothing, is extremely simple to wear and care for (which also makes it a perfect gift)
