I’m using a skein of handspun for the stripes, and carrying the yarn up the side, by pulling the contrast colour to the front between the needles after the first stitch of the kfb on the right side - this is wrapping it round the stitch and leaving it fairly stretchy too.

I’m not picking up the wraps, there doesn’t seem any point messing about when the garter stitch hides them perfectly.

I love the way this looks so far! But the rows are getting longer now….

I did 30 leaves altogether, in the DK yarn this has made it bigger than the original, but that’s no bad thing - it’s lovely and cosy now. The pattern is perfect for self striping handspun yarn.
