Yarn chosen in the Socks from Stash April yarn poll.
5/4/15: Cuff = 12 rows = 1” I’m loving this project. The pattern is easy to remember as it is quite intuitive. Combined with this yarn, which I’m in love with, I’m moving through the sock fast.
Heel flap = 32 + 1 rows (ie 17 slipped st)
20 gusset, start counting on pick up round. Decrease on even rounds
15/4/15: Picked this up again last night, after being sick. Tonight I tinked back to finish on Row 8 as I gone too far. I hope I get the length right as I’m worried they’ll be too big.
16/4/14: First sock finished. I love this stitch pattern. There’s a lot of stretch so the foot looks short but it fits. (I hope it still does after washing.) reduce to 16
26/4/15: I’ve just re-knit the heel turn and picked up the gusset again. I had to rip back because my notes were wrong and I knit 41 heel flap rows and only realised once I was 2cm into the gusset. The ripping back wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.
30/5/15: Restarted, it’s had enough time in the sin bin. Even though I had the same number of heel flap rows I still couldn’t pick up the same amount of gusset stitches. sigh So, the second sock has 18+1. This looks like the gusset is just different by 1 decrease round.
31/5/15: Done. This pattern really does move fast. I love it. The yarn was a joy to work with, handling the tinking/reworking/tinking/rew…. of the 2nd heel very well. No fuzzies.
