1/1/15: Today didn’t get as hot as expected so I CO. There are lots of things going on here! About 12 different cable crosses, bobbles, eyelets. I think I’m really going to enjoy this.
2/1/15: Ack! Took photo of CO and noticed a cabling error already. A very small error but it will bug me. I’m going to rip back to the eyelet round - when it gets cooler. The ripping is done. So easy in this yarn. I took it right back to just before the chart set up round. And, back on track.
8/1/15: So I’ve worked on this again the last 3 days. I’m now finished the charted heel flap. I can just get the sock over my heel and the leg fits perfectly. I think I need to lengthen the flap by about 1cm.
9/1/15: Added an extra 4 rows, following established pattern. 17 gusset stitches.
11/1/15: Finished the chart at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens knitting group. I need quite a bit of extra length. Briefly considered knitting a 1/2 extra pattern (a full 28 rows would be too much) but decided to take the easy route. I hope that the large stretch of stocking stitch won’t be too much. 14 rows before shaping. Only decrease to 30 then every round to 18.
19/1/15: Started second sock.
27/1/15: Finished! I’m really pleased with these. They are hard to get on but once on they fit my legs and feet well. Pictures are unblocked as I couldn’t wait! (It’s hard to take a photo of the back of your own ankle!)
Update 14/3/15: Won Second Prize (behind my Apple Socks) at the Tanunda AH&F Show
Notes:
- 8.5spi,
- needed extra length in heel flap so I could get the sock on. Added 4 extra rows and just continued in pattern
