I need some colour in my life. On a whim I decided to use the 9” needle.
Sock Knitter’s Under Appreciated KAL May/June 2015 for patterns with under 50 projects: mine is #13. I know that my yarn won’t show the geometry of this pattern but I’m hoping the texture will blur the edges of the varigations.
Taking a guess on sizing as I normally do 64 and use DPNs and first time with this yarn. That is the only problem with the small circ - it makes it so hard to try on as you go.
9/5/15: 23 rows cuff, start with row 3 of patterns
10/5/15: slow going with the K2,p2 on the small circ.
11/5/15: I’m not enjoying the 9” circ. with this stitch pattern. I’ve done the cuff and about 3cm of leg but it’s sloooow. After help with my decision I’ve swapped out the needle to my trusty dpns. If I do get a noticeable gauge difference I’ll rip back to the end of the ribbing. 18.5 pattern repeats.
14/5/15: 40 rows heel flap + 2 final
PU 22 + 1, SPI = 9.5, RPI= 13.5
brentusfirmus gusset method 1/2
brentusfirms gusset method 2/2
19/5/15: First one down. Wide, medium wedge toe. Total of 36 pattern repeats
21/5/15: started #2 on little circ and changed to DPNs for row 1.
26/5/15: Finished. The second sock was a lot more fun. I’m really pleased with the result.
i really liked working with this yarn. It released a very, very small amount of dye when first bathed.
Very pleased with the fit of these and I’ll definitely consider this heel more often.

Photo with hole added. Hole appeared without any noticeable warning. Not there in the morning, there at the end of the day. My first.
