This yarn is supposed to pool. I was hoping for big blobs but all it seems to want to do is spiral. So, I’m sticking with this recipe, hoping that the ribbing with the mock cable won’t get hidden.

3/2/15: Wow, this is a fast pattern. Easily remembered and not much more thought required than plain vanilla. Hmm… What heel should I do? Play it safe and do a fore-thought? Do a standard flap & turn and see what happens with the pooling? Leg: 64 rows, Heel: 30 rows, slip stitch (inc 1st centre & dec last row before heel turn)
S1, K16, SSK, K1, turn, S1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn
Gusset: 17

My focus has been on a shawl. I must get back to this!

22/2/15: Shawl done. Restarted at start of gusset.

23/2/15: Decrease on even rows. 64 rows to start of toe. Decrease to 36 + 1R then every row to 16. First sock finally finished.

25/2/15: Let’s see if I can get a different pooling pattern in the second sock.

28/2/15: finished! Maybe not how I hoped the yarn would pool but I like them. The yarn was excellent to work with. The stitch pattern is so simple but the rib and faux cable work fast and look good.
