I was looking for a ‘quick’ project while I await yarn for another project to arrive. I’ve also been itching to use this particular yarn. As I want to use every scrap I decided to do a scarf and I think this could be a winner.
It took me a while to find the right needle size to work with this yarn. As the scarf now would be quite narrow (my friend is a larger gal) I’ve added an extra mock cable either side. It throws the proportions out a little but not too badly. Crochet CO 3.75mm hook.

Last night I added 3 repeats and I must say that the tip about double wrapping the YOs within the nupp is great. My previous method was a lot more fiddly. This is quick and gives a nice, even nupp.

I finished the 14th repeat tonight - which is how many the pattern states. I’ve weighed a repeat and it takes a little over 5gms. I’m hoping to get at least another 2 repeats from what I have left. I will be weighing what I have before I start… but the end is close! I thought I would get bored knitting a scarf but I’m actually really enjoying this pattern - a 30 row repeat with each line different. It’s been a really fun project. And I love how the changes between tones are almost seamless.

Finished the knitting, 18 repeats. I ended with 2gms left. Now to block, but not heavily. Just enough to open up the mock cables.

Blocked: 14 x 192cm
I love how this came out so I hope Sue enjoys it too. The bamboo did what I had hoped. I love that it really is a reversible pattern as can be seen in the sise-by-side photo. May have to make one for myself!
