Notes

So named because these are my first made without a pattern.

I want socks with an off-centred strip down the outside of each one. Just something simple with eyelets. I’ve swatched and have worked out a rib sequence. Now I’ll just make it up as I go. Still not sure if I’ll use the standard faggot stitch or use the centred double decrease.

62 stitches.
Pattern:
P2,k1,yo,k1,sl1,k2tog,psso,k1,yo,k1,p2
K all
Band: 8 rows
L: k2,p1,k1,(p2,k2)x7,p2,k1,p1,k3,p1,k1,(p2,k2)x4,p2,k1,p1,k1
Heel: slipped stitch 26 rows
Heel: Sl1, K17, SSK,K1; Sl1, P6, P2tog, P1 = 19st
Gusset: 15+ 1; pattern row 1
Pattern repeats before toe:38
Toe: reduce to 38st, then 22

20/11/14: I’ve started with 2.5mm and worked through part way of the gusset decreases. I am using a heel based on the rib set-up. I like the look but the fit will be too big. I think the heel is too stretchy. I’ll go back and drop a needle size and do a more stable heel. Otherwise no changes. Decided on the faggot stitch.

22/11/14: first sock finished and I’m happy. :)

26/11/14: Second sock done. Happy dance. My first pair without using a pattern.
