I’ve always wanted to knit this but knew that I probably wouldn’t wear it much and so it would just sit in my closet. But now I have the opportunity as I’ve got a few teacher appreciation gifts to knit and my son’s school’s year-end fundraising auction to knit things for. Not sure yet if this will be gifted to a teacher or donated to the auction.

I had CO a shawl that I was improvising, discovered that I didn’t have as much yardage to work with as I originally had thought, and so will need to come up with a plan of attack of how to make it a wearable piece. In the meantime I’ve decided to CO Metalouse.

March 3, 2014:
After several false starts (re: DO NOT cast on a project at 3am. Just don’t.) I’m finally on my way to knitting this up! Even though the pattern is easy peasy so far, I’m finding I have a hard time concentrating and keeping track of what row I’m on. This makes for horribly uneven and lopsided work and goofed up stitch counts. But I’m loving how the colours within this colourway are knitting up! Just wish I liked knitting with Chroma.

March 7, 2014:
Finally finished the first section!! Now onto the second. I’m a mere 5 rows in and already I’m not sure if I like how loose my gauge is. I guess we’ll see just how it’ll all look the further I get into the section.

April 11, 2014:
YAY! Finito!! I’ve been slowly plugging away at this until I discovered a week ago just how soon fundraising auction items needed to be handed in. So I’ve been solely knitting away on this. And now it’s done! Woot woot!
