Only two repeats of the second part of chart A (instead of three), as I wanted to emphasis the lower leaf pattern more, and the shawlette was still plenty large without it.

This shawl is a gift for my grandmother, who taught me how to knit many years ago, and who was admiring the ones I had made for myself, the last time I went to visit. She lives alone - my grandfather passed away several years ago, and while they visit fairly regularly, her children have somewhat scattered.

The soft purple petal-pattern and the triangle shape of the shawl reminds me of Princess Zelda, who wears a great deal of purple, and the triangular Triforce is one of her family’s symbols.
