Notes

7/25/14 I’m doing these two-at-a-time, toe up, on US size 2 needles.

First impression of using the FLK template of my foot? Dang, my toes are pointy!! Who knew? I’m wondering if maybe I ought to have knit two plain rows in between the increase rounds on them toe boxes…

First impression of this yarn? I love the color changes, but it ain’t no merino. A bit scratchy. But it’ll work for test-driving a new-to-me heel technique. Maybe I oughta go up a needle size, to soften the resultant fabric?

7/27/2014 After a day of pondering, I gotta admit that I’ve learned loads already just having the visual that is a standard knitted toe-box on a template of my foot. No wonder I’ve always searched for a sock that’s not a gamble on how it will fit! And just think, I’m only at the toes, lol. How much more will I learn about my own feet with this project?
I frogged that first attempt that was on US size 2 needles. I’m starting them over on size 3 needles and working two rounds even between the increase rounds.
Using JMCO again, I cast on 20 stitches (10+10) and worked as listed in the photo until reaching a total of 56 stitches. And yes, going up a needle size made a fabric that feels better. Still ain’t no merino, but not nearly as scratchy either.

10/10/2014 I know, it’s October, and these are still on the needles. That’s ‘cause I’m juggling way too many WiPs, lol. I’m just now at the famous heel and finally get to see what all the fuss is about :-)

10/14/2014 Past the heels and am working a 2x2 rib up the legs. There’s enough done to get an idea of the fit and look when trying them on - and oh wow! I love these heels and I love the fit from them and the template!

10/16/2014 switching to size 4 needles for the legs.

01/06/2015 notes for next time I do a similar gauge sock - only increase to 50 stitches. I do have a metric butt ton of Kroy sock yarn, so it could happen, lol.
