2/25/14 I dyed the yarn. Hubby actually bought it for me from the LYS that carries it (I joked that he could just do that, and dang if he didn’t, lol). The colorway was inspired by a dear friend, and the pattern was written by another friend.
I used this cast on by Tillybud, taught to me by yet another friend.
I don’t think it’s possible to find a yarn/pattern combination that could put anymore friendship and even love on my feet than these socks will!
2/26/14 The twisted edging is such an easy and fun detail, ya can’t help but giggle as you see it play out in your hands, lol. And the waffle stitch is fun too. It’s fast, easy, but still interesting. This is gonna be a versatile pattern good for any style of color from solids to the crazy variegateds. I’m still on the first sock, but am really digging the pattern. I’m using a pair of US size 2.5 circulars for this project.
3/2/14 I’m on the gusset of the first sock, and am continuing with the 3 mm (US size 2.5) needle for the instep, but am using a 2.5 mm (US size 1.5) needle for the heel & sole stitches. I’ll continue this arrangement of a bigger needle on the top/instep and a smaller one for the sole.
Also, I did a traditional heel stitch for the heel flap.
7/15/2014 It’s a little embarrassing how slow I’ve been with these. I just got the first one done this morning. The pattern is really easy and intuitive; it’s just me having too many irons in the fire, lol.
And yup, it fits perfectly! Now on to its mate …
8/2/2014 Just turned the mate’s heel, and knitted the gusset.
