I started these and put them down when I got to the part about joining the outer toe to the inner toe and sole. I just couldn’t make it work out in my head…. what were the directions telling me to do???

I fished around on Ravelry and found the comments on the pattern by the designer and her last comment as of 10/9/13 gave me all the information I needed to pick these back up.

I’m making the size small and even though my gauge swatch was correct, my finished sole was 10” long.

I’ve had to make notes in my pattern to help me on slipper #2, such as the rolled edging had to be done with the “H” hook and truth be told, I probably could have gone up to the “I” with no ill effects and a little more stretch to get onto my wide foot. Also, for rows 17 (18, 19) of the inner toe and sole, I would not have stitched through the “front” loop, I would have stitched them normally because I never needed to stitch into the “back” loops once I had the two toes complete and ready to assemble. It may be that I missed something in the pattern, but I can’t see that it will affect the wear of hte slippers that the two soles are not stitched together at the toe. My inner sole is still stitched down as directed once you’ve completed the slipper sides.

Last thing for now - on the rolled edging, I went back and added approximately 5 rows in order to make the cuff a little more substantial.

Used an E hook for the eyes.
