I felt rather stupid, because it took me a few starts to get this pattern going. After reading that others here have had the same experience, I don’t feel so bad!

My trick to getting it started was to immediately use stitch markers-- even on the cast on row! That kept everything even, and as of 4/3- I’m on row 86.

It’s turned into an enjoyable knit. The shawl is gorgeous, and I was determined to knit it, even if I hated the process.

Lucky me, I’m enjoying each row! Unlike the Feather and Fan shawl (still my favorite!) you don’t have long repeats of K even. There’s always something going on with the rows on this shawl.

4/11- After spending four days knitting on the Emergency Kiri and ignoring this shawl, I’m ready to get back with it. I’m now on row 110.

4/23- Lazy, lazy me. I’m at row 142 of 153. It’s coming along, though very sloooowwwwwlyyyy.

4/25- Fin! Now I need to dye it, block it, then gift it!

5/5- Can’t decide if I want to dye it, or leave it the bare color. . I need to gift it by 5/9, so I’d better make a decision quickly.

5/11--A nice, pale lilac. Hard to see, unless the shawl is folded. Since Scout isn’t crazy about modeling lace, he threw his puppy under the bus for this job!
