Our cats like to lay on the foot stool. I’d much rather just wash an easily removable cover rather than the slip cover each time. Made it dark because the cats are dark, we have some dark furniture, already have other dark blankets in the room, and I had some in stash.

I was expecting the nearly full skein I had to go much farther, but the stitches I used ate a lot of yarn. I used woven stitch, chicken foot stitch, reverse sc, and did some front loop only sc work to make raised trim elements.

Worked up a swatch of woven stitch, measured and extrapolated size needed from that. I didn’t write down measurements or stitch counts, unfortunately. I also still ran out of yarn while trying to finish the piece on all four sides with reverse sc (crab stitch).
