swatching on size US 3 (3.5mm) needles proved bad. Holding yarn double, and swatching on US 2 (2.75mm) turned out fine. Threw swatch in the wash and yarn held up great (in cold water!). Waiting for US 2.5 (3mm) Chiagoos to come in the mail so I can cast on properly.

FINISHED! Used euclan and it’s blocking overnight. such a beautiful dress.

So. Rhonda wanted a sleeveless version. C.O 44 stitches, knit 1 round garter, knit 5 rows st stitch, attach to body of the dress. Also added a round of garter to differentiate the bodice form the dress. Attached icord to the split in the top of the bodice for the buttons. Will be adding snaps.

Major problems w/ pattern: I fucking hated how she attached the sleeves. Sure, it worked, but it was SO awkward to knit. Adding two tiny tubes to the ends of a long rectangle makes for uncomfortable knitting. Also: pattern doesn’t instruct you to use edge chart on sleeves but FO picture shows that edging. Also that edge chart is suuuuper ruffly; I had several inches knitted and hated it so much I ultimately restarted about a week ago to make it a garter border.

Ultimately, this is a gorgeous lace pattern and a really pretty dress. I would use the skirt again and knit the top back and forth or use a different method for attaching the sleeves.
