These actually would take way less time than what I did, few days max? I used 2 strands of Caron Dark Grey Mix yarn throughout. I attempted the slouch originally but I think the yarn I chose wasn’t allowing the proper slouch.
I’ve seen a couple of similar wrap boots that I liked, but I couldn’t find a pattern that I could use so I modified the slouch boot pattern.
The foot and base was worked using Patti Notestine’s slouch boots pattern listed above, except I did a single crochet. I added Ingunn Santini’s crochet soles (may not next time if I decide to do another pair) in addition to the flip flop, thinking it would give it a cleaner edge. Once the boots were complete and flip flops attached, I added an additional 1/4” border trim around the bottom (purchased at Jo-Ann’s in the ribbon and trim section).
I am working on a very basic “pattern” for the top section but it won’t be step by step instructions. Basically though, it’s done in a single crochet, with an overlapping section for the wrap.
I bought the flip flops at Hobby Lobby and they were about a 1/2 bigger at the toe and heel than my actual foot. I didn’t want the boots hanging off the edge and wanted a little room for the edging.
These are about a size 10 in women’s (flip flops were Large/ 10 1/2) and are a little small but not uncomfortable since they stretch. These look great off, but kind of squish out at the feet when I put them on. Next time, I would work the sides and top were more snug. Not too worried about it though since they are boots.
