I’m going to try this hat with a cast on of 99, since I’m using size 5 & 7 needles. I hope it’s big enough, but I usually find that my hats are too large because of the ribbing.

While this hat came out beautiful, my pattern changes were problematic in the end. Not only should the cast on be a multiple of 11, but there needs to be an even number of patten repeats. Since, i cast on 99, I only had 9 pattern repeats. For the crown of the hat, this caused an imbalance. Next time, I’d cast on 110.

I really enjoyed knitting this hat. The pattern was easy to follow, and just interesting enough not to be boring. I’ll definitely do another!
