Notes

This was my first amigurumi. I made it on a whim for my cousin’s baby shower. Anyone who has used Spa knows it is the definition of “splitty”. But I found that, as long as I didn’t rush, I had very few stray strand issued. I also used a slightly larger hook than I would have liked, but the stitched didn’t open up like I feared they would. The yarn itself looks lovely.

The pattern was straight forward and easy to understand (though a whale isn’t exactly rocket science). Stitch markers are your friend. I used six SC in a magic loop for the eyes (I’d have rather safety eyes, but babies and choking an all).

Overall, I think he came out well. The fill I used wasn’t the best and my stuffing skill needs some serious polishing… So he’s a bit… lumpy. But nothing detrimental and nothing I’m ashamed to give away.
