Test pattern for justJnet. Working from charts.
This was my first extensive lace pattern and I loved it. The repeats were easily memorized, but there was enough going on to keep it from getting boring. The carts were clear and, sort of missed YOs occasionally, I never had any major missteps. And those missed stitches made themselves apparent in short order.
Unblocked size was 57”x19”
After blocking, it is 70”x23”
Used approximately 100g for the body and 65g for the border.
Note:
♦I only use 1 stitch marker, just before the center line. If you’re easily distracted or just want to make counting easy, mark off your repeats.
♦Speaking of counting, it is your friend. I’d recommend counting every other odd row, starting with 1. Those rows are more heavily patterned and mistakes are more likely to fall within them.
♦Speaking of friends, two row garter tab is not mine. I ended up doing a 3x5 instead of the 2x7 called for. The nature of the yarn gives me some help there, you can’t really tell.
♦If this hadn’t been a time sensitive project, I likely would have done an extra body repeat and made it VERY big. As it is, given the yarn and gauge, it is pretty big.
♦I did KFB in Row 26 instead of KFBF and pinned between the stitched after using Jenny’s Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-off.
♦I decided to pull points up between the horseshoes because I felt they helped open them up. Had I done the picot or beaded bind-off, I probably wouldn’t have.
