Notes

Simple afghan using up some donated acrylic-cotton yarn.

Using CGOA hook -- size not marked but giving same results as Susan Bates P 11.5 mm hook

To start as a rectangle, I chained a bit and then built granny groups along both sides of the starting chain.

First two colors were about the same thickness with 5/7 strands. The third color only had 4 strands, so I’ve added in a strand of a recycled sweater.

Fourth color is also thinner than the first. Adding in 3 strands of a cone.

Nearing the end. Had to add in a couple more odds and ends. I think the starting middle should be reinforced. Wondering whether a strand of pure black would break the visual look of the starting gray appearing to be so huge.

To hide the ends, I used a Russian join on the individual strands. For the end, I separated the strands and wove them in.
