I’ve been attracted to this Bohus Stickning Design by Annika Malmström-Bladini ever since I saw photos of originals in the museum archives and the original chart published in The Revival.
The Crevetten design was originally offered with either white or coral main colors and altho the chart in the book is for the white MC, I decided to try to recreate it using the coral base.
Notes and links to archive photos to come as I have pages of details to include here and I’m using my interpretation the chart and the handwritten notes along the side plus my experiences in knitting Bohus Stickning pieces.
I hope to see an original Crevetten design some day as so far, I’ve only been able to scout out old photos!
All yarns have been sourced from AngoraGarnet using the lambswool/angora blend.
This design is very symmetrical (no surprise for AMB designs) and so I have tried to keep all my increases very precisely placed with that in mind.

A big thanks to dear Pernille who kept getting odd little yarn orders from me over the last 18 months as I tried to put this design together. She hand dyed at least two separate MC yarns and multiple samples from her dye pots until I finally found those to use here.

Displeased with the original yoke so began anew without frogging the first so I would have a good comparison. I felt the need to eliminate a yarn that tended towards mauve. Will need good light to pose both side by side but I’m much happier with the new color combo.

Second yoke finished. Hoping that when the MC is introduced that it helps to pull things together.

Started first sleeve before finishing the bottom of body and I’m very pleased with the new skein blending at this juncture and not needing to alternate skeins although I was prepared to do so.
February 7, 2020
Finished first sleeve and started the second one.
February 11, 2020
Back to knitting the body now that both sleeves are completed.

Completed 13” of the body from underarm and finally started knitting the bottom ribbing. Still no issues with the hand dyed color matching of skeins. Whew!
February 23, 2020
Finished lower ribbing and Kitchener sewn bind off. Now picking up neckline stitches and am tempted to do a different collar than a folded 1x1 ribbing. Hmmm.
Update: used the traditional folded ribbed neckline…I’m such a wuss.

Finished! Going to weave in all the ends and will block tomorrow and hope to get good photos!
