UPDATE on 10/5/10: The pattern is now available!!

One day I had the idea to crochet a stuffed Appa
from Avatar: The Last Airbender, I couldn’t find a pattern so I decided to make one up! This is just a list of what went into making him…

It took:
Exactly 80 days
8 skeins of yarn
1 pound of stuffing…. ONE POUND!
1-2 heck(s) of a lot of frustration
30+ dollars- just in supplies
1 poor little crochet hook
200+ Hours in work
All 3 entire seasons of Avatar: The Last Airbender, just to watch while working, which we watched more than once
A LotR marathon, extended versions!
Many uses of Netflix
Many episodes of Doctor Who
Multiple music playlists

And this is what I got out of it:
Appa (obviously)
A sore wrist
Much more yarn to add to my giant stash
And…
A HUGE learning experience!

All in all, it was totally worth it!!
