This pattern calls for Red Heart Soft Essentials yarn (5 Bulky). Our Michael’s only had one color of this yarn. Also there wasn’t another yarn that I could substitute for this. So I decided that I would crochet this using worsted weight yarn.

Since I’m using worsted weight yarn, I chained 101. This gave me 100 stitches and a width of 32” prior to adding border.

4/17/2017 - I completed rows 1-25.

5/29/2017 - I completed crocheting the body of the blanket and have crocheted the first 2 rows of the border.

6/7/2017 - I have completed crocheting the Blanket. Now to weave in ends, wash, block, photograph, and have it ready for baby shower on 6/10/2017.

6/8/2017 - I have woven the ends in, washed and blocked the blanket. Just waiting for it to dry to taken photos before the baby shower on Saturday, June 10th.
