Very easy crochet chunky baby hat pattern on Youtube.

After the success of the fluffy white and pink hat for my 3 months old granddaughter, I was requested to make a couple more. I followed the pattern from youtube tutorial.
The pattern suggested different sized hooks for different ages, but I used size K hook for all. After a few trials and errors, this is what I came up with.

3-6 months: used the pattern starting with 12 DC in magic ring. Increasing 6 DC in the first round and 9 DC in the second round ending up with 27 DCs. ( as the pattern suggested ) Rounds 4, 5, 6, 7 no increase. Round 8 SC all around.

18 months: same as above till round 3, increased 9 more DC in round 4 ending up with 36 DC. 5.6.7.8 no increase. Round 9 SC all around.

5 years old: same as above ending with 45 DCs after round 6. 7,8,9 no increase. Round 10 SC.

Used pink or white as the last three rounds in two color caps.

I made 5 caps from 2 skeins of this yarn, there is scope to make one more newborn baby cap.
