Even though the Ravelry database lists this yarn as sport, looks, feels and knits like lace. It’s very thin.
Alpaca sheds like crazy ! I don’t know if all Alpaca yarns are like that or this particular brand and yarn. My first experience with alpaca. However it was super soft and a pleasure to knit with as long as you are not wearing something dark while knitting.

Making this without beads. Her preferred size is 28 x 10. My guage is quite close to the one mentioned in the pattern. Casting on 129 stitches. The recipient does not like rolled edge so will be making a moss stitch border to minimize the rolling, hence the odd number of cast on.
A lot of people went down a size or two for needles because the look was better. I might try a 7 but I don’t have 7 circs.
Let’s see if the look is better.

Tried 3 different cast on methods. Twisted German and two similar elastic cast on. The yarn is too thin and knitting looked clumsy. Started again. I noticed Chinese waitress cast on mentioned by several ravelers, tried it and it looks very good. Yarn held double looks even better and the edge is sturdy. Does take a lot of yarn (double the length in inches for the number of stitches. E.g. 10 stitches take up 20 inches of yarn). I bought only one skein since I am making a smaller version, so casting on with single thread. Used the crochet method. There are a couple of crochet ways. I used

Did 4 rows of seed stitch to avoid rolling edge. Worked out perfectly!
