8/10/2018: Really starting today.
Had some issues about gauge and cast on. Resolved through forum post, extremely helpful.
10/16/2018: was set aside to finish my GD’s “Lello” sweater. Picking it up today. Let’s see if I can finish in a month. Someone has finished it in 5 days.. WOW !
10/31/2018: 4 repeats done. It needs 30 repeats. Aiming to finish in a month if I can finish 1 repeat a day. It’s getting easier. Not making mistakes now ( was always missing a yo here and there ). So knitting one frogging 2…
03/05/2019: once again it has been hibernating. This time I was crocheting a teddy bear for my 3 yr old GD. She wanted a teddy bear wearing a Lello sweater just like hers, so I gave in
Knitted another cowl for my daughter also.
Have been knitting pretty much a couple days a week for the last month and have done 25 repeats. I found speaking to myself the pattern helped in not making mistakes. I usually put everything to a tune, I was doing that all my life even when I was studying for exams in college. So it was “ knit 0, knit 1, knit 2 back, knit 2 front, knit 0, knit 1” etc… that’s my way of reading stitches
knit 0 is yo, knit 2 back is ssk, knit 2 front is k2tog etc. it just creates a rhythm and I found I was mistake free. I also counted each block quickly for accuracy. It saved a lot of time from life lines, frogging and losing yo(s) in the process.
Need to make the scarf 60” long so just blocked part of it to see how it blocks with my tension. 4 repeats blocked to about 9.5 inches. So 25 do make it 60”. Will knit one more repeat just to be on the safe side. Should be ready to block by this weekend.
Not happy with this yarn. It’s pilling as I knit. It’s ok looking after blocking but not as crisp as the yarn looked when new on a hank.
03/17/19: Finally off the needles. Watched several bind off videos for lace shawls. Settled for this one. It is a knitted bind off.
03/19/19: Blocked. First time using wires, took a lot of effort. Has to be an easier way to put the wires through.
