Notes

It is an adorable doll and Wendy is very helpful with her pattern. While I am working on this, I made the pencil doll which was a delight to make.

NOTE: I ran out of stuffing, so bought a new bag. It had a blueish hue, and it showed up as a different shade through the knitting when the leg was stuffed. I took it back to exchange. So the hue of the stuffing matters. You can see the difference in the left leg.

HAIR: Found a great tutorial to create hair from yarn easily,
here. I do not have a sewing machine, so I chain stitched the hair together (see photo). If you use double the width of the hair needed ( from top of the head to the back, mine was 6.5 inches, so 13 inch wide piece) then
fold the total piece in half and you will have plenty of coverage.

Patchwork sweater: I did not make strips, instead knitted the colors in one go. Cast on 36 stitches, ribbing and then the patches worked together (12 stitches for each color).

Sweater done, hat and shoes remaining. This has taken so long, I might rethink making slippers. Well I ended up making caps with the yarn bought for slippers ! They were a hit…

March 12, 2015: it is finally completed. I found the hat and shoes a bit tight with size 5 needles ( which I used throughout). So one of the shoes was made with size 6, it fits perfectly. For now, I secured the hat. Knowing the 4 year old, she would have the hair unravelled in no time with her brother as partner in the crime.
